Hey quick question my insurance is due at the end of the week and taken the advise of some you guys to try out adrian flux, came back with a sweet quote. But the policy does not let me drive another car with the owners permission. Gave them a ring and they said they'd have to do another quote for me so went through all of that and they still couldn't do it. Thought this was kinda of odd as i've had it on all of my past policys and it's somthing that i kinda need. Any of you guys had this problem or am i just being messed around? :S

As far as I know it's pretty standard on any policy once you're over 25 years of age.

Below that age very few companies do it.

Adrian Flux deal with loads of companies, could be the one which gave you a good quote won't allow you to drive other cars. You'll have to weigh up the extra cost vs benefit mate...

Just FYI, Admiral come up a lot on these boards too. I rung round hard and Admiral were still the cheapest.

Try playing Admiral off against Elephant. Although they're both part of the same group, it seems like there's a bit of rivalry and the people who work for them both don't like being beeaten for business by people working in the other. Twice in the past when I've found that one or the other is the cheapest I've saved a little bit more by doing this.

A few people have mentioned that they had difficulty getting payouts from Greenlight insurance using every get-out clause in their book of tricks. Also swiftcover are known to take months to process a claim and should be avoided.

Another reason to avoid Swiftcover is the fact that all of the documents are stored online and you receive no paper copies. At first glance this doesn't seem to be a problem... except.... what happens when you get given a producer?

I've read in the motoring colmuns in the papers about this causing problems, since Swiftcover insist you have to print your own documents out if required, but of course with most people's printers it's not going to look 100% professional, so quite naturally the police are going to think it looks a bit iffy. Swiftcover will send proper documentation out but apparently charge a hefty admin fee for this, and also it's then pushing it a bit to get in the seven days allowed under a producer.

AF is now online docs only, they Email you the Cert and you can print them out if you wish, it was explained to me that I do not need a genuine cert of insurance as everything is checked on the computer now, tax and police can check this so not needed.
