does anyone know if this is actually possible? you cant slide the stereo out as the whole centre nit is one bit ioncluding the bits b etween the "tiers" of the radio. are there aftermarket replacements for this?

people have cut the bars between the tiers and put in double din units. Looks quite good, search around on the forums and there are some pics

I've only ever seen it done on the standard plastic with the double din as mentioned above, not on the piano facia. I'm not sure if it will look a mess if they cut it but the overhang of the radio might cover it up. I think there is a Sony double Din for the focus in a shiney black colour that fits if you want a change.
