is the cabin air inlet (black grille in top right corner of photo) waterproof or tolerant of water entry?

all previous cars i had the grille body had a drain to cater for water entering.

since the fiesta grille is hidden under the bonnet it leaves me wondering if it can handle water. i usually hose down that area to keep it clean, am i unkowningly floading something with water? thx
