Hi, I've just recently noticed that after starting my car, while I'm sat at lights or in traffic, the tick over is chuggy....it hasn't cut out but a few times I've looked expecting it to...any ideas?????

Normal, at least mine does it just after lifting off the gas pedal the revs go dwn to about 400 - 500 then back up to idle speed

Its annoying when reversing as I stalled it in front of a load of kids the other week and they pissed themselves laughing

You see the silver bit the K&N hose/pipe is attached to? That's the throttle body. Undo 4 bolts and a clip and it comes off and you can clean inside it.

Should look summat like this (although this picture is of a 60mm throttle body which is slightly larger than the one on our cars) and you clean those flappity bits inside the big round bit facing you in this pic. (like my techno speak?) lol

eh don't. Just clean it lightly, don't move it, push it, force it.

well ive done it - got the build up of crap off the sides of the actual valve, and around the bit where it ( nearly) meets the body. What a difference! starts + idles so much better its untrue, no longer have to wait for the fuel pump to prime or tap the throttle when starting!
