The interior R/V mirror slides onto a metal base plate attached to the windscreen and a plastic clip built into the mirror body is supposed to engage against the bottom edge of the base plate to prevent it sliding back up and falling away.

Annoyingly.....this clip isn't engaging (although it doesn't appear damaged or deformed...with the result that the mirror assembly works loose and falls away...

Usually when you least expect it!

I have ordered a new mirror assembly which has yet to arrive but I'm not sure the clip will be any more effective?

The car is still under warrenty....so I could just pass the problem back I suppose - although having the car off the road is a bit tricky just at the mo!

Or ... I could get busy with (some kind of) glue - bearing in mind that the mirror just needs to be firmly attached to the baseplate - but this would make subsequent removal difficult. Would this be a bodge too far?

Any experience of this out there?
What would you do?

All advise gratefully received!

If its under warrenty, get Ford to take a look. Don't do anything yourself that could make it worse and then Ford have an excuse not to repair it under warrenty. Can't imagine it taking them long though .... (famous last words!)
