quick question guys....

whats best way to get gear gaitor off, i dont wanna try pulling at it incase i rip or break anything!!

Pull off the ring around it. No worries get your hands on it and get busy (oo-err!) lol

This is a copy from the 'How To' section in the members area.

It is an easy mod, but one that i think is great.

1) Before you start though you will need 1 zip strap/tie strap of about 2mm wide,and a pair of snips to cut them.

2) Get a spoon and simply pry the bottom of the original gaitor away from the console (the round plastic bit at the bottom of the rubber gaitor).

3) Then, unscrew the gearknob, (put your hand under the whole thing when unscrewing so that you dont scratch the consul). After a while it will all come off. Remove the silver ring from the bottom of the gaitor.

4) Now turn it inside out and you will see a zip tie around the neck of the gearknob. Snip this off.

5) Slip the new gaitor in place, inside out, and with your new zip tie, strap it around the neck of your gearknob, (there is a recess for it). Then just reverse the process.

god knows what goes through ford engineers heads, may have thought it would have made the car more powerful!
