Hi everyone first post as mines just arrived on Friday

Is the 'miles left to empty' figure on the fuel display known to be accurate? Every morning when i get into the car i seem to lose roughly 20 miles from when i turned it off. Just wondering if this was normal?

Maybe something to do with the car using more fuel whilst the engine is cold, the computer may adjust the calculations during this period - or does it do it even if you start the car warm?

No it seems to go up a bit once its warm and if you turn it off and straight back on again the number is the same, leave it a while and it goes down again.

mine seems to be pretty accurate, lowest ive taken it was 3 miles left, then i thought "time to get juice"

never had it vary from what it was before.

you can go beyond zero i do it at the end of every tank or until i get to a

shell garage.

most i'v done is 15-16 miles with a full car (me and 3 adult passengers) just

totally normall driving no coughs or splutters or whining from the fuel pump

so if your REALLY desperate you could easily go a little bit more

That would make sense then - when the engine is cold it uses more fuel until it gets upto normal operating temperature, at the rate which the engine uses fuel when it's cold the computer thinks it's not going to get as far.

It goes up a bit but not as much as you'd expect. For example tonight i'll leave the car with 200 miles to empty and when i start it in the morning i'll have 180 miles left with is creeping up 5 miles so after i've driven for a bit. Is it worth getting it check out as i'ver just bought it?

It's controlled by voodoo. It is a bit of a cryptic system.
