Hey Guys,

I know this sounds a really stupid question but ive fitted some new headlight bulbs today from halfords and I drove for less than a mile and when I got home the plastic headlight lens were warm to the touch. Ive fitted H4 100Watt. Is that safe? and is it normal?

Cheers

They will get hotter, but i use them and have had no problems, used them in my RS for years without problems, mine are 60 watt dip 100 watt main beam.

60/100's will be OK but 80/100 will scrap your headlamps ( I learnt this from using them in my old Focus)

They're OK for glass lamps but not plastics

go for standard upgrades like Phillips Extreme where the quality of the brightness will make up for the brighter more powerful plastic burning 100w jobbies.

What happens when people fit HIDS ????

HIDs don't get as hot as 100watts Steve.

Phillips extreme were really good but I was dissapointed with mine blowing at only 9,000 miles worth of use.
