Just seen the post about Pinky's car so thought I'd better share with you all that I pranged my car at the weekend too.

It doesn't look quite as bad as Pinky's but I reckon it'll still be a few hundred quids worth to repair it completely. Pics will follow if you're interested but I've managed to scratch and dent the wheel arch extension on the driver's side whilst carelessly negotiating a car park... Its only superficial but because of where it is I fear it'll cost a few quid to get it fixed. I'm not sure whether to claim on my insurance really, I've got protected no-claims but a £250 excess so its fairly borderline as to whether its worth it.

Couple that with the fact that I've got an awful groaning coming from something like the power steering pump together with less than fragrant air-conditioning and I'll be spending a fair amount of time up the dealer's over the coming weeks...

Good one kev! The air certainly was blue when I realised what had happened...

Thanks for the sympathy people, I think my credit card probably needs it more than me! Car's going in to Ford later in the week for them to have a look, depending on what they say I then I'll either leave it with them or look elsewhere.

Anyone know any decent/reputable bodyshops in the Southampton area?

Sorry to hear that Parksey, does take the shine (as well as the paintwork!) off it all for a period of time.

Jeez, theres some bad luck going around at the moment. Hopefully it won't be off the road for long, and won't be too expnesive.

Just a little confused by your post there. You did realise I was talking about Parksey and not myself there?

No problem, it was just looking at my post I could see how you could have took it both ways.

Cheers guys.

Took some pics of the damage, you can't make out much of the dent, but you can definitely see the nice big scratch I made!

Rang the Ford garage and they can't do anything 'til next Friday if I want a courtesy car! I need to get them to look at some other bits anyway so I won't know the damage 'til then. Lets just say I'm sure my credit card is going to have been more than flexible this month!
