Hi guys

Some of you will know me from the FiestaSTOC as I spend most of my time on there but thought you would appreciate my new mini project - my new diffuser.

For the last few months I have wanted a diffuser for the back of my car. I bought one of Team Ashton's when they first came out but sold it to fund other stuff. Seeing as they are like rocking horse poo to get hold of for less than stupid money and I thought it would be good fun (how wrong can you be lol ) I decided to design and have my own design built.

What originally started off as a hungover idea on a sunday morning which I thought I would have finished by teatime ended up being a four week task. The original design has been tweaked about 15 times from a very simple design with a 90 degree angle I decided to have it sloping slightly towards the car and to smooth the visible corner to make it more aesthetically pleasing and make it look like it should be there. I am very pleased with the final design

Originally I thought it could be completed using a jigsaw and some patience but after spending a day having two trips to B&Q, two drives down to manchester to pick a mate from the FiestaSTOC up, three hours of cutting and swearing and generally wasting a hell of a lot of petrol, we realised this wouldn't work so the only other option was to have the finns professionally made. Luckily I found out a friend worked in plastics (why didn't he tell me this before when I had mentioned it ) so I dropped my valance off to his work with my design and a few days later the finns were ready. A mate of mine kindly fitted the finns and sprayed the valance for me and I fitted it this afternoon.

Apologies for the quality of the pics as I only have my iphone camera I can use:

Nice, don't think I would have the fins stick out so much though

Looks good mate, maybe the guys at Streamline carbon could take yours and use it as a mould to make a carbon one..

Unfortunately it would be about 500+ pounds for carbon which is silly money

Ayesha: Im sure it has added about 10 bhp since I have fitted it
