Ok let me start by telling you the problem and how desperate i am to have it sorted lol

The thing is, sometimes when the car is warm it makes a really light wheezing sound. I know there was a thread on here the other day about this being murky power steering fluid. Since that i'v checked and it isnt really clean fluid BUT it has always done this and i checked the fluids when i got the car from Ford and they were all clean and fine.

Now the part that winds me up the most, it is SO loud after iv accelerated heavily, which isn't often. I read that this might be down to the fluid getting too hot but its not after iv been driving like a loon, im talking about just getting out of a junction in a hurry or even a little overtake..

Power steering fluid mate. Mine had the same problem, usually after a bit of a prod on the gas it started. Topped up with fluid no problems since, and that was over 5 months sgo.

I had the exact same problem. I found by topping up just just over the nax mark, resolved this.

Just a heads up. The reservoir for the PS fluid on the Fezz is very small, so after a few flying laps it tends to boil over. It might be good idea to look into a cooler for the PSD oil.

a cooler?? whats this and how do i go about doing it? I hear its an easy DIY?

You run a pipe from your pump to the cooler, then to the resevoir. Something like this. It has been tried and tested, and SA gets really really HOT. Works like a charm.

a) You can add more oil.
b) The oil cools down a lot more before it gets to the resevoir.

Nope, it's a DIY. You just need to get some piping. Speak to some radiator places, they might be able to sort you. Even Fridge/Freezer repair shops might have the kind of piping you need. Shoe them the pic.

somebody on t'other forum was making them up.

It's just an auto box oil cooler, very common. Volkswagen T4 has a very similar one in front of the radiator for exactly the same thing I think ( cooling power steering fluid )???

mine whines every so often, i find its more from cold when u havnt let the car slowly warm up! try driving the car to 3,000rpm and changing gear until everything is warm! mine has no probs then! i had a word with ford and apparently most of them do it! it aint a prob just a small powersteering resevoir and pump for a big engine block and a big steering rack!
