Clutch Replacement

hey guys, got a problem, driving along and clutch like blew up, think the clutch plate is knackered, so limped home.... anyone know how much a clutch will be from ford? anything to watch for when changing it? im going to get a new one tommorow and fit it myself tommorow night. cheers

What miles is on the car, and is it a 57 plate.

as far as i know clutch isnt covered, general wear and tear item so... not forking out £70 for them to look at it and then say no they wont do it.

I would ask ford how long a clutch should last, 31000 miles doesnt seem a lot, you never know they might give you something towards it, ring ford customer service.

i can try tommorow, but they will want to see the car, and since its modded they will not be happy with it. i guess its just parts failing!

37,000 miles isn't wear and tear that's failure. Warranty!!!

yes i know that, as above post, it says parts failing.
im changing the clutch regardless, im not dealing with ford, their useless, the car is in my garage and is in bits just now, just waiting for clutch kit now.
its all being cleaned up too underneath as the ST is going up for sale once fixed.

My cousin who works for a garage has just replaced the clutch in a 1.4 2003 fiesta, mileage 40,000. Looked at the clutch plate and it was right down to the rivets.
