My STs bottom radiator hose split and I was losing almost a whole tank of coolant a day because of it so it might not be the head gasket. Luckily my local dealership looked at it FOC and fixed it quickly.

So either get it looked at or I'd have a good look around the engine bay from above and underneath and if you can, park it on some cardboard or something and see if anything drips on to it and from where.

it is most likely a hose split or seal gone, or could be the water pump...

and said above try and work out where it is dripping from!

Water pump is a common fail on the st, headgaskets are pretty good on these motors.

Bumping an old post I know but I was going to make a topic on this.

I was driving down the M3 this morning when my Temp guage shot up, I pulled over, switched off and popped the bonnet. There was steam coming from the engine area and my coolant was out. Luckilly I had some Evian (only the best for the ST) and poured that in and drove to the services (3 miles)

Filled it up with water at the air n water (thanks shell) and bought 3 litres of Evian. Needed to make 12 miles to a Ford dealership and it was a case of filling the coolant reservoir, driving till I could hear it was out of water (makes like a spitty sucky sound (bj?)) and then I pulled over and emptied in evian 1, drove a bit more, evian 2 and I was litterally about to overheat when I pulled into Ford.

Should be fixed under warranty providing it isnt a stone chip, sound like a hose or pump problem mentioned earlier.

Rented a 1.6l Deezul Foci.

I H8 4Rdz... and cars in general.

Water pump... getting fixed under warranty but I forgot my service book so I'll have to pick it up tommorow and continue the delights of 'Deezul Powah' for another day.

Still, getting 55MPG out of the Focus and i'm driving it rather spirited (rental thrashment)
