Hello everyone! My name is Duncan, I'm 19 and I live near Wincanton, Somerset. I have been looking at this forum and viewing the posts for some time now, must be nearly a year and as I nearly have enough money to buy an ST I thought now was a good time to join!
I'm getting to the stage now where I am actively looking at purchasing the car, and was wondering if in everyone's collective wisdom, you could tell me about things that I should be looking out for when buying. I'm looking at spending around, and preferably no more than £6300.

yeah as Adam said try to look for a facelift model, one with the "bubble" headlights.

Then replace them with the old lights

Make sure you check that is hasnt been written off or stolen! You dont want a category D write off that has been repaired.

Get the facelift imo, the interior is a nicer place to be.

Frome is a good place to be coming from considering Buttons recent success!!
To be honest white is my colour of choice because it just looks sooo sexy, but considering the constant muddy state of the roads, blue is the next best. I cannot be seen with an uber dirty looking car, and white wont help .
Are there any major differences between the facelift and pre-face lift, I've been looking and only the headlights stand out to me?
