Lol, you need to be from West Cumbria to understand the whole thing about jameaters which is what we call people from Workington. I think it all comes from the fact that many years ago the steelworkers (from Workington) got paid less than the miners (from Whitehaven) so they couldn't afford to have meat in their sandwiches and took jam sandwiches to work. The twist in all this is that people from Workington wrongly call people from Whitehaven jameaters, when everyone else knows that it's the other way round.

Not meaning to put you off an ST but have you seen the top gear face off... the two cars seem pretty similar...

ino, STs are only like 0.3 seconds faster to 60, but there just a better quality car! and to be honest theres lots of potential tuning! where with the vts its already a 1.6 on it limits with out looking at turbos and things. its just a lot of effort for power out of a c2!

plus i crnt stop looking at all the goodies on pumaspeed for the STs!

It's a smart looking car though, not much in 0-60 as you say (the ST weighs a lot !) but it is well down on torque on the ST which can be driven very easily and no need to thrash it in gears to make progress, that's what I like about it.
The ST does have some quality issues mainly in cabin but the the engine is solid and easily tuneable.
