does anyone know whats the best way to get rid of paint spots on your car? the guys repainting our offices seem to have been less than careful when painting the basement and I've found black spots of paint all over my bonnet...
its not too bad, and i have waxed the car recently, so I'm hoping that the paint can be removed with some rubbing compound...
anyone got any advice?

Rubbing compound will work but what kind of paint is it waterbased ,two component etc.If waterbased try washing and then polishing the spots first save the compound till last.If the paint is oil based try some thinners, test first on a bit of bodywork you can,t see,the thinners will also take off the polish. If two part try to soften it with some thinners might work, then get the compound out.Hopefully with your car being polished the paint will not of stuck to much,

if you get some good tar remover i find that offten works and it doesn't damage the paint work!

took the ST to one of the best bodywork shops in the country (authorised Ferrari and Lamborghini repairers) and they reckon that a good compund polish (for about R450) will get it out, although they haven't ruled out a respray. Whatever happens I don't care as our company won't pay the painters until my car (and someone elses car) is sorted out.
At least I'll get a nice shiny polished car out of this mess...
