i was speaking to my dad today (he is a mechanical engineer and has over 20 yearsof rallying under his belt building his own cars) and he said tha the problem is with upgrading the calipers is unless you adjust the master cylinders correctly they will be out of balance! i.e coz the piston is bigger you will need more fluid and more presure to brake tha same amount as with a smaller one, so you will be braking a lot harder on the rear brakes already.
he also said it will screw up the abs as it works via a pump which will be preset for a ceratin resure and to release a cetain amount which wont be the same with bigger calipers.
he said unless you upgrade master cylinders etc you will unbalabce the car.

so im just gunna put better pads and disks!

this is true on older cars but with newer ones like the fiesta st this wont make any diffrence as alot off parts like the master cylinder will be shared with many other ford models.

I have mintex pads on my RS and they dont make any strange noises, if they do use some copperslip on the back of the pad, works for me.
