Earlier on I was driving home when I was overtaken whilst I was going round a mini roundabout in a built up (30mph) area Obviously in resedential areas I don't drive enthusiastically but I certainly don't drive in a way that would frustrate other drivers. Even worse is that the location of the incident was yards from a primary school at a time when children could still have been on their way home.

The road in question is often home to a mobile copper but typically not on this occasion. I was praying for him to get caught speeding along.

In the heat of the moment the red mist descended and I either wanted to ram him off the road or chase after him - obviously I did neither but simply muttered an expletive to myself and shook my head

The idiotic culprit was a teenager in an old Fiat Punto. I got a glance as he passed which made me consider the possibility he was doing it in a bid to 'win' by overtaking a car nicer/faster than his. I do fully respect that some younger drivers are sensible (as I like to believe I was at that age), however given this guy's approach to road safety it is little wonder that all youngsters are 'tarred with the same brush'. Clown's like this are ruining it for others and pushing up insurance premiums. Shame on him.

Rant Over!

He'll learn the hard way soon enough.

It used to make me upset when I used to get the tarred brush treatment when I first started driving.

Glad that you rose above it mate, idiots like that aren't worth risking your life, licence and your

Here's how I deal with them. Let them have their moment of glory, follow them at the correct speed out of town and destroy them on the next straight . Nice one to keep cool though, and it was clearly jealousy . As you said, it's because of these people we pay two arms and two legs to insure the car

Im glad you go around mini-round-abouts. My parents reckon only 'tourists' go round the mini one in our village but i always do it, gives you chance to indicate left when you are comming off it.

I saw a guy today going about 30/40 onto a pedestrian area near uni trying to impress the girls in his bleep Astra with his music playing loud.
I joked to my friends saying hes nicked it, and my mate said yes hes an idiot and i joked he drives like me. They all laughed but i wish i could calm down sometimes.

"wen a wuz yung" - myself and my mates all passed our tests at 17 and all got cars, we never hammerred around or took risks, drove like idiots, more of a case that we looked after our cars and didn't want to risk damaging them or mega high insurance if we did. Never had stereos blasting out, that was embarrassing.
So, question is what has changed with todays yoof ?

Punto's seem to be the bane of drivers today

Steve the complete culture has changed... people never use to talk about sex that was taboo and hidden away and other things that i can't really think about atm as I need to go blast some music and drive crazily

Nah I don't think I drive like an idiot? maybe one day I will look back and think WTF? But I listen to loud music but then I do look after my car...
