What are everyones thoughts on these? The new model not the older one. Anyone driven one? Also the 2.2 Diesel Type S version too, anyone had any experiences?

Great engine, not driven the new shape one so can't comment on handling.. you have to test drive one, you won't be disappointed if you like to 'drive' your cars.

Dal traded his ST for one, maybe he can give you some detail

Old type R meant to be better than the new one. The new one is a step backwards in some respects in its suspension/chassis and slower than the old one round a race track. Hardly progress is it.

For that money, I would go for something else, Focus ST, Mazda MPS etc

not so sure about the new type r, but my brother has the ep3 CTR which is the 2004 model, that drives well actually and you can really feel the power with VTEC, sticks to the road well. to be honest when we go out for a little driving sess with my ST theres not much difference in them especially between 30 and 100 he cant get away from me. but after a tonne it has more power!! carefull with them licences tho lol

personally i would go for a 2006 face lift model in black premier edition looooookkks sweet!!!

No low down torque if thats what your into, although it does make up for it very well in the higher rev's. (compared to older VTEC Hondas though, the VTEC is a bit lame i think..)

The diesel however, now thats something i would SERIOUSLY consider. Mounds of torque, comfort, reliability, styling, MPG too

I personally, would have a diesel accord over ANY car on the market at present, you cant ask or want for more than that car has.

Civic will be really good too, im a Honda fanboy at heart so i blow them a bit lol but only because they are soo good.

I test drove a brand new CTR before christmas as I was thinking about upgrading but it just didnt feel that quick so I had the pumaspeed 182 kit fitted and now to be honest the ST feels just as quick. You really have to rev the nuts off it to get the power.

It did drive nice but again I felt that the ST cornered better and just felt more responsive. The only thing I will say is that it does have some nice creature comforts e.g cruise control, etc

for that sort of money I want something much better looking and no silly triangle shaped driving lamps or cheap clear plastic across the boot with a crappy looking spoiler.

Drove the new one and got terribly bored of it. Does nothing unless you utterly wring its neck everywhere you go and thats just not how I drive so bleh. Dull. Interior is awesome though.

Cheers everyone, i think i need to test drive one. I love the styling of it, think its a well nice looking car. Sadly its just out of my budget at the moment as i dont really want to have to borrow..... but afetr a test drive i may change my mind......
