i had a thought today while driving a company car and using its variable wiper intermittent wiper settings, could my pre-facelift do the same using the stalk from a facelift one? or is it more than the controller i would need?

probably an obvious no but i thought i should ask to be sure

Not sure about this but the strange thing with mine (pre facelift) is that sometimes the intermittent wiper seems to have 2 speeds and is sometimes quicker

You can set the speed I do believe by turning it on then off then back on again after the period of time you want between the strokes....or was this on one of my old cars I can't remember

I'm sure there's a timed relay box Dan, I'd have to do more research to find out more...

when i was trying to understand relays I came across something which involved relays and variable wiper intermittent settings...not that i have a clue as to how that would work but though that might be of help if you do some research and understand what's going on in those circuits =)

If you flick the wipers for just a single stroke then wait however long you want between strokes THEN set it to intermittant, it will set to that speed. Alternatively you can just put it straight to intermittant and it will use the pre set speed.

ive got the facelift and the variable time settings do my head in. 1 is to fast and then they seem to go up in 3 second spaces. can never get the right setting and end up just leaving it on constant. id rather have the pre face lift model if you can set your own times
