Ok guys and girls,

I have had a cat-back and induction kit fitted and now looking at a remap for a little bit extra and improve the car a little.

I was looking at superchips and they are only about 5 miles away from where I live. Is this a decent route to go down or am I better off going for a rolling road remap? I heard you can get custom remaps from superchips for about £50 more, but I don't know which would be the best one to go for.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

superchips still do remaps the old fashioned way, cutting into your ecu and replacing a memory chip with their own which has a fuel map for your car on it.

now all cars have a port inside the cabin linking to this part of the ECU so you can have someone load a custom map into the car that is adjusted for how it suits your car best, plus you can revert to standard if you want

as steve says, no-one ever grumbles about jamsport

Theres only one place I'd go for this for a ST, Essex to the tuners where they do the mountune maps

So, would I be better off with the bluefin device instead, for example? Or am I really better off going to somewhere like Jamsport? Northampton isn't TOO far away, so wouldn't be much off an issue.

Getting a proper remap is the best thing to do as it is designed specifically for the car

Ok mate, thanks for that- will look into it.

Also, would I see any real benefit from getting done with what I have done to car? I know I won't see massive numbers anyway, but it would be nice to squeeze a bit more out of it

if you intend more mods then save your money then go for remap when your finished. Probably best speak to JS, they are such experts now with the Fez ST probably will tell you exactly what to expect. They seem to be one of the few companies that can map the ST for 200bhp with all the usual bolt on bits and cams and thats pretty dam good.

I don't really intend to do much else to the car. I fancy getting it lowered, but that will be about it to be honest. I love the car, but unfortunately don't have £1000s to spend on it

I have emailed both Jamsport and Superchips for some info to see what they say.

I have a Powerflow Flexi and a K&N571 fitted to mine so I put it on the dyno to see what was happening with the fueling.
After the mods I now have 161bhp but the fueling is way too rich.
I contacted Bluefin and gave them the dyno graphs to see what they could do and I got the most pathetic, lack of enthusiasm, useless responses that have left me definetly not wanting to do buisness with them.
I have been told by Wallace Performance (Top guy's)that they can remap to sort out the fueling for about £240 (Excluding post remap dyno run if required).

I called Jamsport on Saturday and they can do a remap, with dyno for £350. Think I will take my car to those guys when I have the cash spare

Is it worth a remap with just induction and cat-back?

If so I will have to consider it as my next mod... or lowering

Well that is all I have and the guy did say you would still get some pretty good gains. He said they were getting about 12 bhp from it.

I am also considering lowering too, but I want the performance upgrades all done first, so that will be the last thing to do

Sorry to hijack the thread...

I have the K&N 57i that I fitted a couple of weeks ago. I was expecting better results than I am getting to be honest. She seems no quicker than my brothers standard ST. She seems to be an issue with fueling when I have been driving at a steady pace also. I am seeing around 34mpg instead of ~40mpg before. Throttle response seems to be significantly worse than when I get in the car in the morning.

Just wondering if a remap would help squeeze a little more power out of her and also correct the fuel issue?

Other than the above mentioned K&N filter, she is a completely standard 2008 Fiesta ST.

Cheers
