Hello everyone... Need your help on this!

I've searched and trawled through google, etc for an answer to this! Plenty of questions, but not many answers lol

So if you know, then PLEASE post below

I have this head unit-

Is it possible to wire a sub/amp straight into it? i.e. does it have any pre-outs?

If not, what's the solution please?

Thanks in advance!

Ross

Hi Ross

It won't have pre-outs...however, there is a way to run a sub from this.

You need a high pass filter which cost about £10 on ebay, you can splice into the rear speaker wires for a sound signal, the high pass filter will then ensure only bass goes to the sub, via RCAs which will go from the high pass filter to the subwoofer amp.

It's very easy to do.

I have just removed my high pass filter from my old car and could sell you it if you want, but you can easily get one from ebay or a car audio shop.

Cheers, J.

only sends a small current i think to tell the amp the stereo is on or off. dont think its 12v. could be wrong. never wired one up off a standard unit using a high pass filter so not sure. getting a new head unit once i have money but at the moment want to just use standard headunit. already have the sub and amp from old car so want to run it off that until money comes available

its just 12v, you can either run a remote wire from the ignition as said above or just run a live from the battery or even cig lighter but make sure you install a switch to turn it off or you will flatten the battery
