Changing front door speakers in my ST, removed door panel and OE speakers, cut off the ford speaker plug to attatch spade connectors. Can anyone tell me which wire is the positive and which wire is negative? Both wires are black, one has blue markings and the other red.
Thanks

I would guess at the ones with red on
But tbh I've never found it made a difference

In electricals, usually bLue = Live.

I just wired them like this when I did it. Do the back ones too, they're easy.

blue usually means neutral, which in car terms is ground otherwise I'm not a very good electrician
Plus red is the old colour for live

i'd go with adam as i said before but this would be a lot easier if you had a meter... =S you cannot do any electrical work without a meter imo =S

Connect the wires to the speaker & turn on the stereo. If the cone moves out when the base kicks, theye are wired correctly. If it goes in when the base kicks it is wired wrong.

Was hoping that you guys that had already changed their speakers would have the answer, how did you connect yours without knowing pos/neg?
