+1 I put the axle stand next to where I jack it up. I had the whole front up last weekend like that when changing my breaks

the best way is to put it on the gear box mounting ast the front to lift both wheels up then you can put the stands under the jacking poits, and at the back but it on the rear beam then do the same.

Under the axle? Or is that being a little too simplistic?!

This is how I jack my cars. If you have a trolley jack then jack from the Axel as you will end up damaging the bottom of the sill plates otherwise.

Where your suspension arms fit onto your chassis... this is where I tend to jack from with a Trolley Jack.

If you're using the crappy one that you get with your car then jack from the sills. Your manual will show you where. It's about 1/4 distance between the front and back wheels for front or back... which ever way you are trying to jack.

Thats the problem unfortunatley with trolley jacks. Its much more stable from a chassis point anyway.
