Any idea of how to take off the wing mirror covers? are there clips which need to be pushed in or will i need take off the whole wing mirror to get the cover off?

couldn't find a thread on it and google let me down.

To remove the cover just get your finger nails under the bottom of the cap and pull upwards. No special clips or anything.
