Guys, we are almost forgetting the main man, Clint Eastwood. One of my favourite actors and also a quality director. Some of his films make the list, including:

Unforgiven
Dirty Harry (and sequels)
Fistful Of Dollars
A Few Dollars More
The Good The Bad and The Ugly

It would be a travesty not to mention WHERE EAGLES DARE! Quality film. "Broadsword calling Danny Boy"

Also agree with all the votes for Trains,Planes and Automobiles. Crammed with classic quotes but one of my favourites is the country hick giving them a lift to the station. Describing his small wife as being stronger than she looks as she tries to lift John Candy's huge trunk. "her first baby came out sideways ... she didn't scream or nuthin'"
