ok so lil hiccup with my fiesta,
it seems to be struggling to start,
first i thought the battery was shot but now im not so sure,
if i turn the key in the ignition, wait for the fuel pump to stop priming then fire it up it just keeps chugging unless i touch the throttle,
and when it is running the revs seem to be hovering from around 850/900 - 1500rpm for about 30 seconds or so.

anyone got any ideas what it could be?

There is losts of people having the same problem m8 including me, it seems to be a general issue, maybee down to cold/dampness.

with mine it only happens now and again, apparently there is a ecu flash from ford too resolve the issue.

as above ecu update, happens to the pre face mainly

sound more like a fuel problem try changing the fuel filter, but as for the cars revs at 1.5k for 30 secs sound normal on cold tick over.

i though the high tick over would be normal,
well ive got to pop it into a garage tomorrow anyways so ill ask then see what they recon

doesnt it tick over slightly higher than normal when you first start it up to warm the CAT up? Think i remember readin it somewhere not sure tho lol

Yes all cars will run higher at start up, my RS runs 400revs higher at start up

mine does about 1200rpm when i first start it up then it settles down after a while

little update, it doesnt bother me that much, but a guy at my local ford garage has said they'll do it for £47 inc VAT so i might just get it done

did they say what it was?

Mine does the same at 1st star up in the morning. It idles very lumpy and I have to keep it going with the throttle for a minute or so. AFter that it's fine. Car never used to do it, so it must be a wear and tear item. I have replaced plugs, plug leads, throttle body. O2 sensors, Map sensor, fuel injectors.

The car has been remapped about 5 times. Just cant cure the fault. Next will be a box of matches.
