Just had a replacement engine put in my car under warranty thankfully; however it’s not the same as the stock one. The one they put in cost £2000 more than the standard but they never told me what the difference was.

Its feels quicker and sounds diff at the higher RPM.

Anyone got any ideas as to what the diff is?

first of all, what engine did you have and got in now.

It was the Stock 150 Durtec thats as much as i know from a 58 plate if thats any help

and its still says Durtec on the new one but thats as much as i know

the bit that says duratec is only the air box, and quite possibly not been changed. it may feel quicker due to your old one not performing well and what you are experiancing now is what an st should actually feel like. dont know about the different price tags but i should imagine your st will now be running up to full factory spec.

cool it had been running fine untill it had a bad oil filter put on which blew as i was doing 70 donw the moto lost all oil and then die a can tell you it wasnt fun!

Humm ahh well.... it runs nice and sounds good now for the upgrades!

Maybe they put the 2.3ltr in Doubt it tho

there is only one engine, ford will tell you anything.

It's probably just got better engine internals

If it's done under warrantyi can imagine it probably is 150bhp and not lacking in power. Most manufacturers take one of the top performing engines for this as they do with press cars.
