£245 Direct line, Fully comp, protected No Claims.

Kept in a garage no further security. Was well pleased, my RS1800 costs twice that and thats with a clifford.

RS 1800 ? Thats not a Mk 2 is it ?

I doubt it kid, there are people who beleive the Fiesta was the ONLY 1800.
Only genuine Ford nuts like ourselves would know about THE 1800.
What about the Harrier, who remembers that?

Ok just looked through the entire thread and i can't belive how low your getting your quotes.
Zetec s- mines £1300 3ncb garaged in a lowish crime zone. yes it's modified but i could insure an at my age with the quotes people are getting.

How do you get them so-low?

Add your mum/dad to your insurance and it will go down. Married status helps and also adding the wife or girlfriend can help if they have a good record. Having a good postcode can reduce it also. I've got an excel spreadsheet somewhere with all the postcodes for insurance groups but its for motorbikes. I'm paying £530 with Privilege - On the drive, 4yr ncb.

I payed £361 with DirectLine to many years no claims protected no claims, legal protetion and curtasy car, I could have got it cheaper but I have found that cheaper is not always better when it comes to making a claim. DirectLine hade my wifes car repaired abd back on the road in 17 days after some moron ran into the back of her. also they paid out in under a month when my youngest had his car written off late one night whilst the car was parked up for the night. So as I said cheapest is not always best!!

My mum bumps the insurance up, speeding tickects and a few crashes. I also went through a broker which probaby didn't help. 21 next year so it should drop alot i hope.

I'm 20 on wednesday with two years no claims and pay £1000 (converted from euros) which i dont think is too bad.
Just done a quote on elephant and they quoted £1330.85 so im much better off in Germany
For a ZS they quoted £836.76 and for the diesel version £764.17 so i can see why people go for the ZS over the ST.

My RS1800 is a M reg, built Nov 94 registered Jan 95. One of the last built. PAS, Twin Airbags and ABS. Finished in Cayman Blue. One previous owner.

Commonly known as the Mark 3.5 because of the petrol cap flap and small mirrors.

£1000 Fully comp (when I was 21) 2 years no claims. On road.

Anyone who is under 25 try bell.co.uk , they are part of the admiral group, who also do elephant.co.uk etc. It would only cost me £680 fully comp!

I don't know if this is going to help anyboy but it's a list of the risk ratings of postcodes in the uk. It's an interesting read at how the risks change in a close area.
