I am looking to re-map my just wondering whats the best on offer? Ive read about bluefin etc but i am concerned that an engine re-map will cause alot of problems in the future.

Anyone on here had it done?

i wouldnt bother getting a remap with just a cat back exhaust, i would wait till you get more mods as it wont do a lot.

i do have the k&n 57i fitted aswell. Im sure with these mods id get an extra 10bhp and 10lb/ft torque? Im not looking 2 get up 2 200bhp, just a bit better performance than standard car. 250quid ive been quoted 4 generic remap....thoughts?

Don't think so buddy, leave the re map until there is the need for it

if your wanting to get up to 200bhp, get the full exhaust system with 4-1 manifold, cosworth inlet manifold, 60mm throttle body then get the re-map. if im correct i think this will get you 200+. im sure someone else will advise you tho.

Bluefin quoted me 10bhp, 10lbs of torque extra, aswell as my local performance tuning garage, i personally dnt knw if this is BS, thats why im asking if anyone has had this done and what gains they got?

i had mine rr the other day and i came out with 163bhp at the flywheel thats with a K&N and miltek flexi pipe so 15bhp more than standard, but i wont get a remap yet as i don't see the point maybe when i get cams etc it will be worth the £300 odd.

Im not after huge performance, just a better/smoother driving car. Id be happy enough with a 10 bhp and 10 lb/ft torque increase. im just asking how reliable the re-maps are on the

I haven't heard of any problems due to remaps.

Dreamscience seems to be favoured over bluefin, not entirely sure why...

As others have said, wouldn't see much point in a remap as your car stands.
I had a K&N and full exhaust system with de-cat, that made a good difference to the car, never felt like it needed a remap either.... remaps much better for turbo cars and useful on NA when you have significantly affected the cars standard behaviour

You will have to add cams into that mix as well.

im going to get my car on the rolling road next week to see what my performance is sitting at just now, i will then think about my options.

My 3 options are to remap and lower my car on eibachs, or buy the milltek 4-1 manifold, or save up another month and get the mountune 165 kit.....

problem is you already have two of the required MT parts, K&N and MT Cat Back so shame to loose money on those, can't see MT selling you a kit and knocking off those parts and if you buy the MT parts seperately you won't get the MT Remap. So maybe just complete all the bolt-on parts as you go along including a 60mm then go for a custom map, maybe add cams too and then get the mapping done, you will be looking at 170-200bhp with those options.
