Turned it off, started up again and it's been fine :-/ any ideas what it could be?

EAC fail (electronic acelerator control), went into limp home mode, clean your throttle body.

mine does it time to time.

Rightio buddy. Is it easy to clean it? Is there a guide on here by any chance?

I've got plenty of brake cleaner so I will crack on over the weekend. Do you think it was definatly the throttle body which caused the problem? Thanks

I had the same prob ages ago, not had it since I cleaned my TB so...

Mine has done this twice since I had it and I dont think its the TB.

Am i right in saying you turn the key, then engine sounds rough and struggles then it says 'engine fault, look at your book'

I think it occurs when the fuel pump doesnt engage properly on startup and usually goes after that... the only reason I say it isnt TB is because it happened directly before a TB clean and happened again this week following a TB clean about a month ago.

Yeh matey turned the key, was very rough and told me to look at the book. Hopefully it was a one off but I think i will give the throttle body a clean.
