my "i'd rather push a fiesta than drive a corsa" sticker is gone. had to peel it off cause someone peeled the 'than' off, obviously a corsa driver who couldn't take it

Great project thread Stevie! Cant believe Ive not seen this before. I really wish we could have a section for project threads only and nothing else.

Time for an update here considering FITP has been and gone
Lots done since the last update
The car is pretty dirty in some of the pics, please ignore this

First thing I did which I was keeping secret before FITP
Facelift Headlights
Wanted them for a while and eventually went through with it
Of course I didnt just want standard ones, I was always gonna take them apart and paint them...

First port of call was to split them open and get rid of the orange



I didnt want to do different colours, keep it simple, all black
Mockup after the first coats



But I didnt want to leave it there. I wanted to do something just a bit different that I hadnt seen before on our standard Fez lights...
LEDs



They are hooked up to my sidelights. Unfortunately I had to disconnect them for the MOT, but they are still in and will be reconnected soon. Also unfortunately I noticed at FITP that 3 LEDs aren't working anymore.
I thought they still looked good while they lasted though



I have HOD bulbs and LED sidelghts.
You can still see the scratch that went accross the whole bumper that I unfortunately cant get rid of without a full respray and I'm not prepared to dish out for that.



Biggest change was of course the Matte Black OTT stripes
Thanks to Thomas (Duff) for coming up to NL to fit them.





With the stripes added, the rear was looking a bit 'busy' thanks to all the stickers and wiper so most of the stickers were removed and the wiper too (thanks for the grommet Lee)
Also got a full bootlock cover after the one I used to have with the hole started peeling

Last but not least, I made my own badgeless grille, got a short antenna and painted the fog rings matte black as I feel the red didnt fit anymore.
The antenna has unfortunately turned a kinda copper colour thanks to the sun, but the people who sold it said they will send a new one.



First I cut up my donor grille



Spent 3.5 hours on my balcony with a soldering iron doing the plastic welding



Looking very rough



I sprayed it all gloss black to begin with



But then decided I wanted to continue the matte black stripes over the grille



It worked, but was not really so visible unless you looked really close

Looks rather nice all clean and shiny i think.
Paint on the grille is peeling so will need a respray before FF

I don't think I will be making any more changes as I'm now saving for a new car
Would have liked an exhaust but i'm saving the money for the new car
