Hello all,

As some of you may recall I took my ST on track day at Spa Francorchamps last week (Monday). I thought I'd share some pictures with you all and a little about my experience of the whole thing. I was going to do it earlier but it took me a while to sort out all the pictures so sorry for the delay.

[6] This RS200 has an engine which delivers around 500 bhp. I was fortunate enough to get a ride as a passenger (thanks Will). Unbelievable forces in all directions.

The following are pictures of my tires and the condition they were in after about 20 laps around Spa (1 lap is about 4 miles = 80 miles). Not too bad in my opinion - still some very good thread left. Ready for next track day

It sounds like you had a really good day out. I'm sure you really enjoyed that ride in the 200.

You're right the tyres don't look badly worn at all considering what they've been put through.

Chris st thanks. I got to about 110 mph with the ST. The long straight was taking forever. But with the RS we got to 150 ! and he was breaking at 1/2 the ditance I was braking in the ST !

ChrisCumbria, yes I had a real blast. If Scotty would like to organize a track day I'm defenetly up for it again... I know that the companny I went with are trying to organize something at Nurburgring in 2006... Any takers ?

Tyres don't look too bad considering they were punished for 80 miles.

Humm maybe... I got cooled off by an early warning though when I had a bit of a moment after only a couple of laps. I came into a corner a little fast following a Lotus Elise and felt like a real twat when I realized I was not going to make it around and possibly hit him... Foolish for thinking I could break at the same distance as the Elise. Anyway I deliberately drove off the track and onto a curb to avoid hitting him and ended up in one of the pits. Lucky for me they recently tarmacked the pits (no more sand) so I just waited till the shaking stopped (me hands) and drove off. And lucky for me also that my ST is not lowered or I might have left some of it in Belgium on that curb.

I'm up for a trackday at some point, like Chris, I might hang on until I know my front tyres are getting near their limit and then just go out and destroy them. I've been trying to think of a circuit which would really suit the ST but its a difficult one, somewhere like Brands Hatch might be cool. The other problem is that trackdays tend to be more of a summer thing so it may be that there won't be much going until next spring.

Absolutely stunning pics, Nick. Would love to drive Spa, even more than the Nurburgring. Eau Rouge would be awesome in my ST! The white RS200 is amazing. I love them too. looks like a right blast

Wow! Those are some brilliant pictures Nick! Thanks very much for doing that I really really really want to do something like this next year! Wish there was a way of magically transporting my ST to Spa or something to save the miles

Ah, but half the fun is in actually driving over there!

Nick what wheels does your ST have on it? They look to be smaller and have less spokes than mine does? Are the standard wheels different in other countries??
