hello guys and girls,im new on here,ive been looking at getting a fiesta st,as had the zetec s tdci,which was a pain had loads of trouble with it,so got rid of that and got a astra sri cdti,which i no longer like,i want another fiesta now a st,the only thing i just wanna ask as i will be driving to work everday which is 40 miles a day(only 5 days),so just over 200 a week what sort of money a i looking at to get me to and from work i normally do £40,will the st be a hell of a lot more

The is not great on fuel but its not designed to be but its not horrendous.

Depends on what kinda journey ur doing, motorway u'll get reasonable mpg

If u want REALLY GOOD mpg look elsewhere

i get about 280 miles per tank and thats with pretty much no motorway driving and putting my foot down quite a bit. if your on the motorway and take it easy you can get much more

thanks for the reply guys,not too fussed about it really but dont wanna be paying out 50 or 60 quid,its motorway driving really,in my astra i get between 340 and 380,for 40 quid,but thats driving like miss daisy lol

i was going to say that i can get about 280-300 miles like northwestmatt suggests for a £30 fill (this is by reading the miles-till-empty meter), however typical miles depends on different driving styles. if you likes to put your foot down a lot, you will get less back in frugality, but more smile on your face!

more miles = diesel options

incidently, i did consider the 1.4TDi/1.6TDi Fiesta mk6, which both claim to be over 60mpg on combined cycles, and i can tell you from experience that they really do do that kind of range. I had a 'courtesy car' for nearly 3 months last year which was a fiesta van 1.4tdi, and it was the drive of a fiesta that got me over to thinking about fords again. because miles per galon wasnt the main issue for me i got the ST.

your definatly not going to get near that in the ST no matter how you drive! if you can afford the fuel though matey get one!

If you really drive like miss daisy I have proved 40MPG to be possible
But normally I got 34MPG

In my experience doing similar miles when I was working away, a full tank lasted about a week. Costs me just under £44 a tank so not too far off what ur looking for.
I say go for it!

personally, it has to be said that you only live once. if you can afford a little luxury like a nice car such as an ST then why the hell not. there's no point going for the diesel one if you're always admiring the ST as 'what could have been'.

just get the ST, you'll not be dissapointed.

thanks for all the replys guys will go down there tonight,see what they can do for me,if i cant get that might just get the zs tdci,if worst comes to worst,ive also got a nova c20let turbo im building aswell,which should have between 350 and 400 bhp,so its gonna be alot cheaper to run than that lol

I feel i'm pretty well equipped to answer this btw, drive 37 to work and 37 back each day.

Personally, at first I was thinking what have I done, but mainly as I was hammering it and getting 29-30mpg, I've been trying to save money lately and taking it a bit slower and 60mph in 5th is very economical, can get 40-43mpg on steady roads. If you work hard to drive economically its not bad.

It's never going to be as economical as a diesel. I've heard rave reviews about the TDCI Zetec S btw.

i'm only doing on average just over 31mpg but £30 still lasts me all week. Thats driving into town and out of town twice a day and up and down a dual carriageway twice a day. Its better on fuel than my old 2.0 focus was
