I am ramon from South Africa. I own a mk5 Fiesta 1.6i Rocam.
I have been holding out on buying a new car ever since I heard about the Fiesta ST. I plan to be the first in SA to own one.

Has the Fiesta ST been released on UK yet and whats are the options and pricing?

and another thing could someone please let me know what the equations are to convert beteen BHP and KWatts

Sorry Ramon, I've already reserved the right to have the first ST in the country, but the info as far as I know is as follows.

The ST will propably only be launched early 2005 in Europe after which they'll start the export to other countries. I don't expect that the ST will see our shoars before middle to late 2005 and you'd propably look at a price tag of between R170 000 and R190 000. I don't think it'll go over the R190 000 mark because then it'll start being competition for the Focus ST170.

Options for SA will only be available after the official launch in SA (and then it might still take a while because the MK6 was launched in January in SA and there still aren't any options to choose from)

Hugh, Dave, what are your oppinions on this matter?

If I cant be the first then I was tring for the 1st in gauteng but I can see ur plates in the pic so there. Guess ill move back to dbn then be the 1st in KZN then.

By the way Any ideas on the dates for the Focus MK2

Sorry m8, on the Focus I have no idea. And btw, I'm in Mpumalanga and it's the 1.6 Zetec not the 2.0 ST that I've got so you can still be the first in Gauteng.

Your conversion units are as follows:
1 kilometer/hour = 0.62137 miles/hour
1 miles/hour = 1.60934 kilometer/hour
1 horsepower = 0.735499 kilowatt
1 kilowatt = 1.35962 horsepower

Note that the horsepower that are given in specs are usually calculated from the flywheel and not output on the wheels themselves.

There is no precise way to convert Newton Meter to Kilowatts, the kilowatts are usually about half the Newton Meter (this is not precise, it depends on gear ratios, etc)

If I made a mistake in any of the stats, please let me know so I can correct it.

It's the 1.6 Zetec. The 1.6 Trend as you know it in SA is basically the imported 1.6 Zetec from Europe.

I was just lucky enough to be only one in SA who got one with the ZETEC badge on the back of the car. The derivative they sell in SA generaly just says 1.6 at the back where mine says 1.6 ZETEC.

btw i have an instrument cluster for the mk5 if you know anyone that is interested (R1500). It came straight out of my car when I bought it (Jun 03) I replace it with the white face cluster. So its still brand new.

Yea, I ordered mine end of November 2003 but they struggled to get the colour I wanted (I chose moon dust silver because you can't see when it's dirty and chips are hidden very well. ), and I received it in January 2004. Felt quite nice to be one of the first, everyone stared.

I'll see what I can do about that instrument cluster of yours. I had the Mk5 1.6i Sport Rocam before the Mk6, it had the white cluster as standard and it looks really gr8. Which model do you have?

I have a Jun 2003 Mk5 1.6i Flair 5dr with aircon the only thing it doesnt have is electric mirrors and windows and the leather option.

I bought it in June last year. In May last year my Mk4 was written off when a guy shot his red light and then decided to contest for a piece of road with me.
The Mk4 was the 1.4i Fun (white face cluster, mags, boot spoiler std)

Tbh guys there is still not yet a stamped price or release date for the Fezzie ST so we cant even answer that question until it is finally sorted out by Ford.

The only thing that we can do is keep u up to date with anything we here.
