I'm currently contemplating changing my plasticy leather steering wheel in my mk6.5, it's going all horrible due to it peeling, however, I'm looking at the zetec s wheel and wondered how easy/hard it would be to just do a straight swap?

I've found one for £40 and I'm assuming I can use the centre piece with my airbag etc in the new steering wheel?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated !!

Isn't it leather? Of do you only get that if you have the leather interior?

Well it is leather but not like the leather that the zs and st have if that makes sense, plus it's
gone all patchy and because I'm driving the car everyday it just makes it more noticeable than ever !

Yeah I'll definitely disconnect the battery. I've bought the wheel now anyway just got to fit it on. The bloke said it was easy enough, so fingers crossed , this is the one I've got...

Well...I'm probably one of the few party crashers on this forum , I've have got a Ford Fiesta but it's a 2007 Style lol !

That's why I've got that steering wheel as a pose to the one, thought it might look a bit tacky.

I wouldnt get one with st on it if you dont own one, only reason i say this is every time you get in it the first thing you'll do is see the st badge and then be instantly disappointed because you dont actually own one, but everyman to his own just my 2 cents...not much really lol

Ive only had my st since may but before that i wanted it for three years, so for three years i worked hard and saved like a mofo. Anything is possible you just have to put your mind to it.
