im looking to give my engine bay a good clean as its looking abit poor. whats the best way to do this i can remember some debate a while back about jet washing them and some people said it was a bad idea.

also if the any cleaning products that you have used/recommend for me to use?

Theres loadsa different stuff people use but personally use wd40. It makes any black plastics and rubbers gleam brings out the engine bay a treat and gets you semi high at the same time lol

i just use autoglym engine and machine cleaner. does the job for me, and then just detail with a paintbrush for all the little fiddly bits and bobs!

Ah awesome, this is where the can of DW40 that I have in my apartment will finally come in handy!

I've been told that using WD40 will cause dirt to stick to the sprayed area, and is actually harder to clean in the long run. Is this true? If I can be bothered I have this autoglym engine cleaner stuff and it works pretty well.
