finally getting the blow on my manifold fixed tomorrow. at first it was a slight blow and sounded ok, but now it just roars and sounds like a clapped out old diesel. no idea what the price is going to be as the manifold is probably going to need to come off and get drilled out but im guessing around £100. may also drive better as i believe you loose power through a blowing exhaust but im not 100% sure.

Can you not just heat the stud till its glowing and knock it out, and yes you will lose some power.

done. £30 as i knew the bloke doing it or it would of been £70. had new gasket and 2 new studs in the manifold. they just knocked out up to the heat sheild and dropped down. drives loads better, so much better that i think i lossed more power through the blow than what the flexi has gained. it was so flat on acceleration before and now it just goes like fooook, but it was a serious blow and was barely even hanging on with the 1 bolt. when i drove into the garage i couldnt help laughing as there were 2 more st's in there and its only tiny. it was like st central. none of the lads noticed untill i said. one was white with blue stripes and one was plain silver.
the white one had a nice touch to the stripes that ive never seen before
