Only had my one week not but its already looking filthy due to the crappy weather. Now due to previous cars being s**t I never bothered to clean them very well so am after some cleaning tips to keep my looking shiny. Am planning to give it a proper clean on my next day off and fit some of my little interior mods if they have come in time and then will get some pics up.

What are the best products to use etc.

Cheers

megueirs (not spelt properly) and auto gylm are up top for the best things to use =] i rinse my car with water and then use the 2 bucket method to clean all the car except wheels. then do wheels with alloy brush and then dry with a cloth/towel and use lots of polish =] may have to do quite alot of work on the first polish if the car hasnt been done in a while. defo worth the effort tho and im sure the rest of the forum will agree =] get pics up b4 and after to see the true effect =]

Can't complain about the Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0, wipes off very easy

Haven't used Autoglym though, but i doubt it will be much easier

Don't want to start a Megs VS Autoglym war here btw

always used meguiars, only use autoglym glass polish, i wash the car dowm, then with meguiars gold class shampoo i wash the car with a wash mit and the two bucket method, then dry with megs magic water magnet, step 1 and 2 of megs diomand, then megs nxt gen wax, on the wheels and tires i use megs hot rim and hot tire, theres thousands of diffrent of methods and products out there

Just a tip, best to wash wheels first as any dirt from wheels can be "flicked" onto the paintwork, and then you would have to start again.

Also get a good waffle drying towel or similar, not a cloth as this will trap any remaining dirt and cause swirls on the paint.

Halfords sometimes do a 3 for 2 deal, and are quite reasonable prices without the deal too

I've never done a polish before. How long do I leave it on and how do I wipe it off?
