Now we know what insurance groups the fiest ST and zetec-s are I was just looking to get some insurance quotes of cars in similar groups to get an idea of price. So i went onto elephant.co.uk and to my surprise they actually already have both of them listed so you can get proper quotes now. I was very happy with the quote i got for the ST just over £500 (im 23, 2 windscreen claims, no convictions and 3years ncb).

Nice one.

The insurers tend to keep fairly up to date.

ive found with elephant if your a young'un if you add a parent as a second driver to the quote it can often bring it down a bit.

I also have added my old man and that also did bring it down like you said mepal.

www.rac.co.uk - Surprisingly good quotes.
www.theaa.co.uk
www.morethan.co.uk
www.cia-insurance.co.uk
www.axamotor.co.uk - Love Vauxhalls, not so keen on Fords

Being a bit of a lazy Git I like Egg.com for is easyness, Just enter the cars registration and the postcode of your house and it will find everything for you. The way online car insurance should be. Of course you wont be able to do this unless you've got your new car and have its Reg number.

£596.22 ... god bless diamond Asks if you have an IAM pass too... Hmmm... Tempted if it brings it down

The best quote i've had was elephant.co.uk which gave me £1000...
19yrs, 1yr NCB, fully comp, £250 voluntary excess (thats £600 excess in total! ), 2 years license + pass plus and two other drivers.

Thats not as bad as I was expecting! To reduce the excess to £350 put another £200 on the cover.
