Hello, Just need a big of advice really,iv had my ST for just over 3 years now and have 30,000 on the clock so warranty has just ran out . the other day the gearbox started gettin all dodgy, basically when the engine is cold its glides into gear nicely as its always done, but as soon as the engine warms up,an i change gear its feels really sticky like i have to phyically push it in and out of gear with slight force, does anybody have any idea of what this could be?? thanks adam

Could be as simple as the linkage needing adjustment, cables could be damaged, or it could be a clutch fault, check them out before you blame the box.

funny mine does that. smooth as anything when cold but soon as car warms up can be abit stiff. i just assumed it was just ford design and ignored it. havent had any issues so far

My mates had this prob and what it is is the gear linkage at the gearbox end tightens it self up when it gets warm. we removed the cables and found the main linkage part was tight . lubed it up and that cured it, might be worth a try.

failing the linkage, maybe try a better grade gearbox oil?

Mine seems to do the same but the other way around. Stiff when cold then smoother once its warmed up
