Hi Guys. I have introduced myself in the noobs forum.

Ive been browsing this forum for a few days now.
Ive noticed that the engine mods that you guys do seem to be roughly the same, such as - K&N57i. Milltek flexi. milltek exhaust etc.
Ive jus been wondering why its usally these brands that you use? Is it because the combination of these gives the best results?

Yes for the price and simpleness of the mods, they are the most common ones. Just k&n and flexi can see your st up to 160bhp

Or if your pockets are a little bit deeper you could go for the mountune cais which is basically a k&n57i with a big box round it!

AFAIK the ST is a somewhat restricted engine, so first steps are get more air in and more fumes out, there is a 40mm bottle neck on the exhaust and the standard airbox is restrictive...

150BHP standard and with K&N57i, full exhaust, cams, inlet and remap it will be 200 (approx)

Ah rite ok. Thanks guys. Ive just been planning on what to do when i get my ST as i am saving at the moment.

Ill probly get some coilovers because the standard height looks too high for my liking. Also so i can adjust them. Thinking of slamming it when i go to a cruise and raising it slightly when at home. You can adjust Coilovers Right?

Like shottaz was saying the more air you can get in and the more fumes you can get out the better, its the same with the flexi i believe it attaches to the end of the exhaust manifold just lets the engine get rid of a bit more fumes just that little bit faster. The car should also pull much better in the gears but you wont know what this is going to feel like until you actually own the car first!

the flexi is the manifold downpipe to the exhaust. the standard pipe diameter is too small and the flexi is bigger bore so allows more gas out. it will increase the torque of the engine meaning better acceleration
