My car becomes an absolute beast in sub zero temperatures... anyone agree? what's it like for the SC people?

Is it true 1 degree centigrade cooler is roughly 1BHP?

So if its about -40 you get an extra 50bhp or so?

Turbos/supers looooove the cold

does that mean a standard st engine works better and has abit more go in cold weather or is it just if its been modified a bit?

cold air is denser than warm air so you can cram more into the engine, thats why turbo cars use intercoolers to bring the air temp down, more denser the air and more petrol = more power.

I can't really see it making that much difference to an N/A engine not in the same way it will affect a forced induction car anyway

Cooler intake air is denser and contains more oxygen atoms per cubic foot. So cooler air will allow more fuel to be burned and in turn, make more power. A 10 degree drop in temperature can add 1 to 1.5% power to an engine.
