No not the cold stuff or the stuff that makes you lose your mind

Looking at upgrading the car stereo, and looking to change the front speakers for direct replacements, but looking to change the rears purely for bass as I don't want to lose the boot

If I get a 4 channel amp does this mean I can amplify all 4 speakers seperately?
And is so can I select which ones have a high/low pass filter individualy or are they all the same and would then need 2 2 channel amps?

Anyone know what the hell I'm on about?

Haha just replied to your PM about the flat sub, I had my boot completely full yesterday with tools and drills etc so need the space without the hassle of removing the sub all the time

A false floor hmm, I could do a custom build into the wheel well seeing as the RS doesn't have one, cover it, as the sound will still come through anyway, with an MDF floor, perfect

You can get subs which stand in the corner of the boot, like over the wheel arch, backside against the side of the car to save space..... then a perspex cover perhaps....

A 4 channel amp would do what you want.... get some infinity in the panels.... if you can be bothered to do a stealth shelf with 6x9s you could get some decent bass without a sub...

Ok I know what a stealth shelf is now and don't want one of them

Just remembered a mate has 2 spare 18" (yes 18") speakers I might hook up in the boot to test how well it works in the wheel well covered by a hard flooring, obviously it won't work as well as a proper sub but test the theory

They are alpine but only £30 a pair, pioneer don't seem to do 5x7 and thats the only set that alpine do

i have in phase in the front and alpine in the back and thats a great sound

Well decided to get a flat sub first and will order either pioneer or alpine this week, then will be replacing speakers, then may amp the speakers in the future if I feel it necessary
