if the ST is only going to be available in red for the first stage of release what kind of time span are we talking about for the rest of the colours, feb,march or are we talking more like april, may ,onwards.

There's no reason I can see for that, and certainly nothing like that has been confirmed. Where did you hear it David?

I'm with you Hugh, I think a single colour first production is wrong, at first I thought it would just be the test drive cars sent to all the dealers which would be red and I can see the scenes in that, but to make full production models only in red is in my eyes a bad thing. Although I can see there way of thinking with production costs, etc., I have never seen it from any other company before. and basically I think the more colours the more customers.i.e.if i have the money ready am i really going to wait till say june for other colours when the car is released to the public in jan , or is that just my way of thinking.

I know for a fact that car dealers hate what is known as 'dog-dick' red and value it less than any other colour with the possible exception of white. I personally don't see it (I love red) but it seems in the trade I am in the minority. Ford would know stuff like this though in far greater detail than I (or at least they should!).

Making it in Red could only possibly be a marketing strategy, we all know that Fiestas are produced in different colours already and there would be very little tooling changes required to assemble the ST over the other Fiestas.
