Hello everyone,

This is my first post on here and i would just like to say hi.

I have a 2003 ford fiesta zetec which has central locking but not remote.
I was wondering if anyone knows what would be involved in making it remote central locking. My guess is that i need to fit a reciever and program a remote key which would then need to be cut to my key code. Not sure if the wires are there or not.

I have seen quite a few remote keys ready to be programed, for sale on ebay.

If anyone knows more please could you let me knows whats involved.

Thanks a lot,
Mike

Hello Mike, welcome to the site.

My Fiesta lacked the remote for central locking and on a rainy day it really did upset me! I didn't look into retro fitting it so am not too much use but I do know that it weigh's in at £200 as a security pack (theatre dimming interior light, perimeter alarm) option so suspect that it is not entirely easy. I would suggest talking to your local service department to see what they advise and perhaps trying to get them to show you the parts required on the parts system. This used to be microcat but I believe they use something else now.

Sorry to not be more helpful.

Well, my dads just had a brand new alarm system fitted to his Porsche. Aftermarket is what ur after m8 as if ford fitted it, it would cost the earth.

For a decent alarm with remote central locking, lights flashing and alarm sensors on the windows, bonnet and boot you would be set back about £200.

Welcome to the Site m8... hope this helps

Right, i have been to my local dealer and found out that ford make 4 different remote locking modules. each ending in either an A,B,C or D. The one that is fitted to mine ends in a B. The one that i need to fit is either a C or a D. All i can tell is that the D has PATS.

Can anyone tell me if the fiesta i have, has an alarm fitted. Doesn't look like non remote central lockings cars do.
