Morning` to all of you..

When is was fitting my winter wheels yesterdag, i discovered the right front spring was broken approx. 3/4 turn from the bottom. I managed go get the broken end into position again, but must have it replaced next week.
Now the Question:
What is the prise in UK for a original FORD front coil set ?
I also have an Eibach lowering coil set in mind, but where is the best price ?
And will it be okay to use the original dampers ?

Thank you all in advance for your replies :-)

\Michael

Just need the springs as they rust off. I need both my car's doing in the new year. Bit of a pain but has to be done.

Unsure of the price for these. Might be worth e-mailing ford parts.

The front springs are quite common for breaking on the st, ford focus fronts seem common also, I asked my ford dealer if changing my stock springs to eibach springs would effect the warranty on my car as it was only one year old at the time, he said my ford shocks and springs were only covered for one year by ford, the Eibach Pro Kit carries a 1,000,000-mile warranty so thats what went on. Yes the eibach springs will be ok with your original shocks.

Hay again..
Just went to FORD to have the problem solved. Ended up with an invoice at approx. 285 Punds for one coil replacement..
Sometimes I am a little bit tired of living in Denmark..

285 pounds!!! Jesus. You should have purchased them and got a normal garage to fit for you.

when mine went last month i had:

two new springs (good practice)

plus:

a new shock - being the drivers side with its water trap, the strut tower had filled with water and the bolt rotted, had to be force off.

a new tyre - spring shredded it.

recovery to garage.

££££££££££££££££££

effin car.

Hmm..
In general spare parts are rather expensive over her due to the high tax on new cars. The FORD dealers/workshops must earn their money on spare parts/replacing them. The coil spring itself was approx 65 pounds, fitting was 150 punds(The cost per hour is 55 Pounds + tax), and enviromet tax(Scrapping)8 pounds(For a spring?? - Asked to scrap it myself, but it was a no-go). All this + a little new bolts/nuts etc. is x with 1,25(hope not the 1,25 factor is the same in UK).
In my next life, or perhaps earlier, my home will be in Sweeden or Germany :-)

They could have replaced the whole suspension in 3 hours, they should have a set time to change the spring, for example most garages use an industry approved book on times, i know my cousin uses a book to determine the length of time on certain jobs.
