Hi everyone,

Compared to something like the MK1 Focus, is the Fiesta a good handling car?

Thanks

Although I haven't actually driven either a sports or standard Mk6 Fiesta... by all accounts the standard one is pretty damn good, obviously it has body roll etc, but being as it is standard it apparently feels very solid.

The Zetec-S I should think will compete with its older version the Mk5 Zetec-S which really was a good handling car.

As for the ST, well, this should be quite special.

Thanks,

I've had a few Foci, even the basic models handle, but now Ford have just gone and made it too big, so I'm looking at a Fiesta. On paper the ST has all the bits, I just hope it's not all 'talk'.

I would say it's about the same as the Mk1 Focus. The Fiesta doesn't seem to roll as much, and being a bit lighter is more agile, but doesn't quite have the same depth of character as the Focus.

Having said that, the Zetec S and ST models should be very good.

Having owned both I can happily say that I'd expect a Sports Fiesta will happily provide a driver a much better handling ride than the likes of the ST170.

I had 2 Zetec Fiestas from new (1 diesel, 1 petrol) and an ST170 from new and the Fiesta offers a better driving position and an awesome chassis. Indeed the engineers who worked on the ST have said that it is quicker on certain tracks than the Focus RS. Says it all to me and remember the Fiesta chassis is much newer.

Please bear in mind though, it is like comparing Moet & Chandon to a rather fine Bollinger.
