I've just bought some smoked effect side repeaters:

Had no problems getting my originals off but when I've come to slide the 'bulb holder' into the new ones it will only go in so far. I've definitely bought the right ones and the fitting appears to be exactly the same as the originals. Although it's hard to get any purchase when pushing (as I don't want to push against the car) I managed to get a fair bit of force behind it but it just won't click in the last cm or so!

Any ideas?!

Will try filing them a bit, or cutting them as suggested. Thanks

make sure to post some pics up especially close shots. I was looking at a set of these but was reluctant due to now knowing how they would look like

If in doubt, give it a clout!

Don't wanna damage the car though. You've not a lot of room to work with as the cable holding the bulb is very short and can't be pulled through any more so I'm concerned about clipping the car!

I managed to fit them. Took a lot of force and I've put a tiny mark on the passenger side but should T-cut out. Will put some pics on my Mods thread when I get a sec.

Just nip to a B&Q/Focus, buy a small filing kit, only a few quid then use a small file and just keep filing around the inside edge of the hole of the new repeater. It takes about 5minutes but eventually it will fit on as easy as the originals and looks great!! Simple DIY!!
