Ok so today I switched off and went back to the car after a few minutes. I switch on and the headlights wouldn't come on. The sidelights were working fine but no head light. So I tried switching off and on, nothing. I tried the 'home safe light' technique* and they worked but they still wouldnt work when switching them on normally. The bright was switching on but not holding position. then after fiddling a bit with the bright, all came back to normal! Any ideas?

*With the car switched off you switch the lights on and off quickly so the headlights come on and stay on for a few seconds.

Dodgy switch? Hmm maybe a diagnostic checks needed to find the fault?

you think I should take it in for a check? I'm still planning to get a new switch soon so as to include the fog lamps with it

didn't realise there was a home safe light, shame i have auto lights

Home safe mode will still work wether you have auto lights or not mate

ahh sh*t this happened again and couldnt use my car tonight. Hope I get it sorter soon =S

good luck sorting it! hope it isnt a big fix. Can you take it to a Ford main dealer in Malta ? (kind of remember one being in Sliema, nto sure though :s)

there is one ford dealer in Mriehel actually. I am going on Monday but in the mean time I just got a switch so I will check if this replacement fixes the problem

Fixed. The switch has been replaced under warranty
